Riccardo Quaggiato

Climate Change and Industrial Pollution Expert

Riccardo is an Italian environmental engineer with over 25 years of experience in climate change, industrial pollution and environmental protection, with particular expertise in EU environmental and climate legislation.

He has advised public authorities, international institutions and industrial operators on the implementation of the EU environmental acquis, including the Industrial Emissions Directive, the EU Emissions Trading System, integrated permitting, Best Available Techniques, air emissions, waste management and industrial risk prevention.

Riccardo has extensive experience in the Western Balkans, particularly in Serbia, Kosovo and Montenegro, where he has contributed to numerous EU and internationally funded programmes supporting environmental reforms, EU accession processes, institutional capacity building and industrial compliance.

He also works on Paris Agreement implementation, greenhouse gas inventories, climate mitigation policies and UNFCCC reporting.

Riccardo holds an MSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Bologna and is a member of the Italian National Order of Engineers.
