Maurizio Zanella

Maurizio Zanella, who holds both Italian and Luxembourgish nationality, is an esteemed legal expert, international consultant, and academic with a distinguished career in European affairs, trade promotion, and international relations.

He earned degrees in Philosophy (La Sapienza University) and Political Science (University of Pisa), further specialising in Community Law at the Centro Studi di Diritto Comunitario in Rome.

He has served in key roles, including as an official at the European Commission, focusing on Central and Eastern European affairs, particularly Romania and Bulgaria.

He has also contributed extensively to academic and publicist activities, including teaching at the University of Rome and analysing European integration processes.

He has been actively involved in fostering international trade, particularly for Italian enterprises, leveraging his extensive global network. From 2013 to 2016, he served as Special Advisor to the President of ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) and the Cuba-Italy Business Committee for Cuba and the Caribbean. His expertise in Cuban affairs has led to collaborations with Vatican diplomacy and international legal networks.

Currently, he advises on high-impact European Investment Bank (EIB) financing projects and consults for leading firms like Ferrero International S.A.
